Job Description
  • Leverage your expertise in sequence-based lighting to create visually stunning and realistic lighting setups for cinematic sequences using Arnold, Katana, and Gaffer.
  • Collaborate closely with the animation, VFX, and compositing teams to ensure seamless integration of lighting with all production elements.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of lighting principles, color theory, and composition to enhance storytelling and mood in cinematic sequences.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot lighting setups to achieve high-quality renders within production deadlines.
  • Work within pipeline tools and render pipelines to efficiently manage and deliver sequence lighting tasks.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of lighting workflows and best practices across projects.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure visual consistency and project requirements are met.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies related to lighting and rendering.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Lighting Artist, specifically in sequence-based lighting for cinematic or CG animated projects.
  • Strong proficiency with Arnold renderer, Katana, and Gaffer in managing complex lighting setups and render pipelines.
  • Experience with lighting optimization, troubleshooting, and managing high-quality renders within production constraints.
  • Solid understanding of lighting principles, color theory, composition, and motion to effectively enhance visual storytelling.
  • Familiarity with pipeline tools and workflow automation to increase efficiency and maintain production schedules.
  • Proactive approach to managing deadlines and resolving technical challenges promptly.
  • Competency with industry-standard software such as Maya and Nuke; knowledge of version control systems like Subversion or Git is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, both creative and technical.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively within cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with Python scripting or automation related to lighting workflows is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of C++ or other programming languages is a bonus.
  • Experience contributing to CG animated projects or cinematic sequences in a collaborative production environment.
